The Time Has Come

I had a nice day today.  Our principal gave us a planning day so we could be ready for next trimester.  My collegues and I worked through the morning and went out for lunch at Red Robin.  I did not touch ONE french fry!!!  You know how big THAT is! I love their French Fries with ranch dressing (your fault!) but I was good and had grilled chicken and salad.  No dressing.

After school, my drama club kids worked on the play.  The set design kids got to use power drills for the first time today.  They were so excited!  They were also bummed when they realized they have two weeks away from Drama Club: Parent/Conferences and Spring Break.  This picture isnt my kids, of course, they are much younger.  But you’ll get the idea.  Like you, I have to protect them from bad people lurking on the internet.  But they looked something like this:

The actors are working on several plays based in world folklore.  The play we did today is called The Boy Who Drew Cats.  It comes from Japan.  I like this story because the boy who drew cats is an artist and – in the end – he’s a hero because he uses his artistic ability to “save the day” by killing the evil rat goblin. This is a video made by some grad students at the HKU School of Arts Utrecht.  Animation: Wouter de Graaf.  The characters don’t talk, but I think the story comes across pretty well.  Check it out!
