Peaceful Pain

There is nothing like a good workout to make you forget all the junk going on in your life.  At the end of the workout session, you just want it to be over!  My head hurts, my arms hurt, my side hurts, but all the emotional junk…GONE!  Wow!  Feels so good to feel this pain again. It’s the best kind of pain.  The kind you “inflict” on yourself. I mean, let’s get real – Pain is a reality in life, right?  You might as well inflict it on yourself.  I know that doesn’t seem like it keeps others from inflicting pain on you. Sure it does – Just say, “I can’t do this now (deal with your drama), I gotta go to the gym!”  Who’s going to fight you on THAT?!  We all gotta workout right?!  Plus, your calf muscles look AMAZING after a workout.

And in case you are wondering about the parents and their response to the letter after almost a week – NADA.

So, today at 2:53 pm I called your father and left him a message.

I think communicating twice in one week is about as fast as I’d better go at this point. Any more and I run the risk of pushing too hard.

I know, I know.  Adults are so ridiculous in their slow speed. The parents may need time to get more comfortable with the idea of trusting me.  I need some time to process this too.  It might take awhile. But, what matters MOST is that we find a starting point to work from.

It does feel good to know I’ve started the peace process.  There’s little I can do now but wait.

I’m not asking you both to do ANYTHING except pray.  Pray that we all find a way back to peace.  Pray that the words coming from our mouths bring us peace.  In fact– maybe that should be our mantra for the next few weeks…PEACE.  (It’s also a hint about our next Sketchy Scribe adventure. 🙂 Look for it on May 24th, 2017.
