Magic Fun 101: How to Draw a Dragon

Our countdown to St. Patrick’s Day continues as we enjoy a bit of magic by creating a dragon pencil drawing.  Today was Fun Friday, so I did this dragon with a group of kids in my class at the end of the day.  We only got to half of it, so I promised them that I’d put the video up on our website.  Yes, lots of other people tune into the Sketchy Scribe to get the positive vibes and a “wee bit of fun.”  Dragons are animals of legend.  No one knows for sure if they ever REALLY walked on the earth.  A dragon is a powerful totem animal.

A dragon is a legendary creature, typically with serpentine or reptilian traits, that features in the myths of many cultures. There are two distinct cultural traditions of dragons: the European dragon, derived from European folk traditions and ultimately related to Greek and Middle Eastern mythologies, and the Chinese dragon, with counterparts in Japan (namely the Japanese dragon), Korea and other East Asian countries.[1] – Wikipedia

The dragon you will be drawing can be either a European dragon or a Chinese Dragon.  Just add details that will make it obvious which kind of dragon you are creating.  Enjoy!
