Sweet Bea Ginnings

Good Morning Sweet Girls,

I am starting to write my children’s book this morning. It is a book about/for children who are missing some adult they love very much.  This is one of the pages:

This is Shirley.  She is a Grandma who loves her Granddaughter, Bea very much.  Today and many days, Shirley is reading a letter that her granddaughter wrote her some years ago.  Shirley keeps this letter tucked in a sacred place where she can find it. She keeps the letter in her Bible by her bedside. Bea has not written her Grandmother in sometime.  Her parents do not allow the child to contact her grandmother.  Why?  Shirley’s eyes start to well up.  She wonders how tall her Granddaughter must be now.  She worries her Granddaughter has forgotten her.  She cries.  She turns the letter over.  … And the words her granddaughter wrote, so many years ago – they comfort her.

Then, there will be a picture of the Grandmother reading the letter.  Something like this…

Also, the text of the letter she is reading will be visible:

Dear Grandma,

Thank you for the card you gave me.  I think it’s really cute.  I miss you too.  I hope to see you soon.  I can’t wait to see you again.  I just want to say you are the best Grandma ever.  I love to see you smile and I love to see you happy and I love to see you in a good mood.  I hope we can spend time together soon.  I remember I would come over after school when I was in Kindergarten and I would always paint pinecones, play with my kit and we would dance to music.  We would also watch t.v.

I just can’t wait until until I get to see you and Grandpa again.  I would call you but I don’t know your phone number so I can’t ever ask my parents to call you and say hi.  Of yeah, How is Grandpa doing?  Tell him I hope to see him soon and that I love him and miss him.

Well, that’s it.  I miss you. Hope to see you soon.  Love you.

Bea

Perhaps the child reading the book might be able to flip the letter on the page over and see the same words that comfort the Grandmother…

Thank you for inspiring me.  I hope this book will help children EVERYWHERE know that adults they are parted from still think of and love them.  It will be a labor of love. There will be a page that you have each inspired to make.  I love you both so much!  Have an inspired day!
