Three Americans in Paris: Part 4

The next morning, Bea, Purity and Prudy had a breakfast meeting in the hotel with Heidi Klum and the famous fashion designer, Donatella Versace (Ver saw-chey).

“Donatella Versace, may I present Prudence Scattergoode AKA the Sketchyscribe and her two young sisters, Purity and Bea,” Heidi exclaimed.

“Enchante'” responded Donatella in a lovely accent.  “My daughter Allegra discovered your website a few months ago and reads it often to draw positive energy and inspiration.”

“Thank you very much,” said Prudence.  “Your clothes are… tres elegante!”

“Magnifique!  Votre accent est tres chic!” replied Donatella.   (Magnificent! Your accent is great!)

“Merci Beaucoup!” (Thank you!)

“Donatella is showing her line right before our presentation,” Heidi exclaimed. “Your owl costume will fit in nicely, Bea, with the other Halloween couture costumes being presented by our Teen Project Runway All-Star Designers. She was wondering if you and your sister would enjoy being in her fashion show as well?”

“Ugh…yeah! The two girls broke out in giggles and smiles.

“Ok then, be at the Tour de Eiffel at 17:00 (5pm) tonight and I’ll get you dressed and ready to go,” Donatella said. “And Miss Scattergoode, you will be my very important guest tonight with a special spot in the audience with Allegra.  That way, you can cheer the girls on and help us celebrate their success.”

“We are going to be in a real Paris Fashion Show! said Bea.

“That’s cool! said Purity.  “So what will we do until then?”

Two words – Disneyland Paris,” smirked Prudy.  The girls let out a screech.  “But we need to get back to the hotel by 15:00 (3pm) so we can shower and get ready for the show.  No complaining, OK?!”

“No worries!” the girls said in unison.  Before they knew it, they were on their way to the “happiest place on Earth” – in Europe.

They drove up to the front entrance of Disneyland Paris and got out of the private car. Everyone in the family was there waiting for them.  Everyone was smiling.  It was Disneyland Paris, after all.  As a group, they walked through the front entrance of the park.

They walked all around the park for several hours. Prudy insisted the girls rest often in order to not be too tired for the fashion show later that evening.  At first, Bea and Purity didn’t want to slow down.  But when their feet started to hurt from all the walking, they were glad to put their feet up and enjoy a relaxing meal.

They went inside Beauty and the Beast’s Castle where they found a restaurant called Belle’s Country Kitchen.  In a private dining room, a birthday party had been all set up. Bea started to smile.

“You thought we forgot!” Prudy said.

A waitress brought out a little cake with yellow frosting.  Belle, the Beast and Mrs. Potts came out and everyone sang Happy Birthday to Bea.

Three o’clock came faster than anyone expected.  Once they got to the hotel room, Purity decided SHE was taking a long bubble bath.  Bea thought that sounded like a fabulous idea so she ran a bath for herself in her private bathroom.  Bea looked at all the complimentary toiletries that had been left for her: shampoo/conditioner, shower cap, and…lotion.  She seized the trial size bottle and stuffed it into her purse.

When the girls arrived at the Eiffel Tower, they waited for the elevator to take them to the Jules Vernes Restaurant.  Bea was getting very tired.  Walking around Paris was so exciting, but she also felt exhausted.

“Don’t fall asleep!” pleaded Purity. “We never know when the dream will end and Paris will be gone.  Please try to stay awake, Bea.”

“I’m determined to stay awake,” remarked Bea.  They got to the top floor and were quickly hustled into make up and wardrobe.

Later that evening, Donatella Versace came out onto the runway to begin her runway exhibition.

“Today, is a very special day,” Donatella began.  “Today is International Day of the Girl.  Today, little girls from all over the world will be looking to Paris and watching what trends in couture will help them bloom with beauty in the coming year. Today, our special guest from Teen Project Runway, Bea and her big sister, Purity will celebrate International Day of the Girl with a walk down our runway.  Thank You, Heidi Klum for sponsering this event.  Also, a big thank you to Sephora Cosmetics for all your support.  Le swag bags, c’est magnifique!  Ladies and Gentlemen…enjoy the show.”

And the Versace runway show began…

Back stage was chaotic with dresses hurriedly being put on.  Bea and Purity stood out of the way.  They wore lower platform shoes than the other models.  Their dresses were not too revealing: Prudence had insisted on this. Still Bea looked very concerned.

“What if I fall?” asked Bea.

“You’ll get up and keep on walking!” Prudy insisted.  “Just be you and everything will go fine!”

Purity’s walk down the runway was flawless.  She did not smile.  Her expression was blank like the other models.  And she was stunningly beautiful.
