Liberty’s Kids

Your Grandfather was a U.S. History teacher. He taught about how our country came to have its freedom from English rule, which is funny because both of his parents were from the United Kingdom.  This is a fun video series called Liberty’s Kids.  I know you are both way too old and too cool to watch cartoons ( or are you?).  Anyway, I’m having a Liberty’s Kids Marathon as I unpack the house.  This DVD series was in my classroom so I’ll watch it until I find all my other DVDs.  My cable and Internet are disconnected too, so entertainment is limited here right now.  Kitty was so freaked out when I got home, I figured sitting here listening to a movie might calm her down.  Poor kitty!  This is the first episode of the series.  You can find many of the other episodes easily on YouTube if you like it.  My students last year got addicted to it.  🙂 I like it because I can just imagine how the colonists fought against the tyranny of their British king.  The British were basically being a bunch of bullies.  “It’s our way or the highway,” they said.  We Americans chose the highway.  We chose to fight for our freedom.  You see, history is full of people fighting for their freedom.  Some won their freedom and some did not. Liberty’s Kids shows both kinds of fights.  Enjoy!
