If At First You Do Not Succeed, Fail, Fail – Again

I know you want to be all grown up.  But I’ll tell you, it isn’t all its cracked up to be.  You mess up A LOT!  The more you attempt – the more you mess up.  You need to know that.  You are not a failure because something didn’t work out.  And you can learn from the mistake so you do not make it again.

Thomas Edison on Failure

We wouldn’t have lights in our houses if Thomas Edison gave up.  He failed thousands of times.  What if we fail because we do not learn the lesson built into the experience.  It’s like we are on this cosmic Ferris Wheel and we keep going around UNTIL we prove that we’ve learned the lesson we need to learn.  My spat with the property manager today (read the next post) was an $80 lesson.  From now on, I call her and ask for absolutely EVERYTHING.  And if she and the landlord wanna pay for 3-4 service calls – that’s not MY problem.  I’ve learned I’m dealing with a paranoid person.  Got it! The next time she complains that I’m calling her too often, I’ll remind her what I learned today.  No, we aren’t going to be good friends.  Your older sister can be feisty!  I’m not denying that!  It seems I’m stuck on the Ferris Wheel with this woman, I’d better learn to adapt.  You see, we all have to – to a point.  It isn’t just you.  Perhaps I’d better start working on getting a down payment together so I can buy this house. Or, if they wont sell it, move out next November.  If I do get to buy the house, I’ll get another realtor to deal with the crazy woman. Yes, I’m still spinning.  I was mad!!!!
