Fall is in the Air

Since I had a substitute teacher yesterday, my students had to be good.  They were, for the most part so I gave them an art lesson.  We did some etchings with leaves.  You find a leaf that isn’t too dry and put it behind and blank piece of paper.  Then, you use crayons and etch lightly cutting the lines of the leaf into the picture.  Try using autumn colors like brown, red, orange, purple and yellow.  This is a picture one of my students made.  We also read a really cool story called, The Stranger by Chris Van Allsburg.  The last words of the story are “See you next fall.” Of course, I hope to see at least one of you before next fall.  🙂
