Most people wouldn’t think those two (very opposing ideas) should be in the same sentence, let alone a song that inspires people. We all make mistakes, my sweet girls. Anyone who needs to beat you over the head over and over about it has their own issues. A person might need a rest from a situation, so they might quietly go off and do other things, but this person isn’t punishing you. They just need time.

This is what happens: I write a chapter of the story and then send it to the people in my critique group. We agree to meet once a month at someone’s house. We read over each other’s writing and give our opinions. We meet and give our opinions orally. Then we get back 3-4 drafts of our chapter that looks like this:

watch UGH! That can hurt. But it makes us better writers. And then we decide if we agree with those changes and make them if we do. Chapter by chapter – that’s how you write a book. It can be a difficult process. Right now, there is no room in the critique groups. But I can work on the story before I submit it to the group.
