The French Seaside

This morning I got on the TGV (pronounced Tay-Jay-Vay)imagebullet train into Normandy, France.  I thought getting out of Paris to explore the French seaside might be interesting.  Good idea!  This is an important historical site for peace in the world.  On June 6, 1944 – Allied Troops ( US, British and Canadian soldiers) landed on the coast of Normandy to attack the Germans during World War II.  This invasion was called Operation Overlord or D-Day.  Three million men attacked Hitler’s German forces to free the French and the rest of Europe.  This quiet seaside French village stands were the British came onto the beach.  So you see, it’s kind of a big deal that this place is still here.  If you know much about WWII history, you know that that war took many years and many lives of good men to win.
