Sushi with Sonya

Today, I’m hanging out with my friend, Sonya and her granddaughter, Melissa. Melissa is one of my Religious School students and her Grandmother is a mentor of mine.  A mentor is someone who models for you the kind of woman you want to be.  Sonja is a smart, well traveled lady who I respect very much.  I think it was her influence that really set my trip to Europe in motion.  The last time we had sushi, we talked about her family’s (including Melissa) recent trip to Israel. I was so inspired, I went home and booked my plane tickets to Europe. So I’m sitting in a sushi restaurant, drinking Japanese beer and nibbling on tempura.  Tempura is fried food like shrimp or veggies.  Not all Japanese food is raw.  I do like sushi.  I know you hate the thought of it. You don’t have to eat raw food at a sushi bar.  Melissa never does.  Anyway, today I’m waiting for Sonja to arrive with Melissa so I can show them my pictures of Europe.  There are pictures you have not seen.  But you will.  Bea’s birthday on Sketchy Scribe is gonna be an Autumn in Paris Theme.  I know how Bea loves Paris.  Start thinking Eiffel Tower, shopping on Paris streets and riding on an open air bus around the City of Lights.  We are going to Paris for Bea’s birthday!  Yeah! In the attached video, you’ll see the Eiffel Tower and a street with lights leading up to the Arc de Triomphe.  This street is the Champs Elysse.  This is THE shopping street in Paris.  Grandma loves a perfume made on this street.  She wears it everywhere.  The perfume is called Shalimar.  You’ll see the Louvre which was a royal palace.  Now it’s a very amazing museum with the most fantastic works of art. Enjoy the anticipation of waiting to read my next story: Three Americans in Paris. Some of the pictures in the video take awhile to change.  You’ll just have to enjoy the music.  Xxoo
