Ocean Music

Except for Bea, I took each of you to see the ocean for the first time. ( I had planned it. Bea, and then your step mom beat me to it. We did go there together though, I remember!) Anyway, I remember the first time your oldest brother saw the vast, azure ocean.  He said “WOW! It’s HUGE!” The ocean is so overwhelming.  It reminds you how small you really are.  And how small any problem you might have really is.  In fact, many times, the problem is more in your mind: HOW you are thinking about the problem.  If you allow your mind to spin and spin about an issue, you cannot be surprised that the problem keeps spinning back to you.  But, if you throw your problem “out to sea” and let go so God can help you with it, you’ll find the problem often fixes itself.  The answer will manifest (or appear) almost as if by magic.  There’s that word again.  The trick is to control your thoughts.  I do not mean that you should stuff them down inside of you so you act like hurtful things don’t bother you. I mean that hurtful things happen, address your feelings about it and then move on.  Don’t dwell on it.  How do I address those feelings in a way that won’t “get me in trouble with others?” Check out my next post: Edging God Out. In the meantime, try to clear your mind of what bothers you with this beautiful music and ocean waves.
